IEA’s World Energy Outlook 2006

Speaker: Tom O’Gallagher
Location: Congress Center of RF CCI. Start at 7 p.m.

Abstract

The annual World Energy Outlook is the leading source for medium to long-term energy market projections and analysis and has achieved widespread international recognition. It is the flagship publication of the International Energy Agency.

The latest book – World Energy Outlook 2006, was released on November 7, 2006.  In this update, the reference scenario shows an energy demand growth of 53% by 2030, projecting a future that is dirty, insecure and expensive. An alternative scenario  was also analysed where new government policies could reduce demand by 10% and deliver a cleaner, more competitive energy future. The presentation looks at global oil demand projections to 2030 for the reference and alternate policy scenarios and provides details on exports, imports and investment requirements on a regional basis.
